Your Own Virtual Server

We've listed some of the reasons that you may wish to consider your own dedicated virtual server, rather than using one of our shared servers, on the Cloud Database Modifications page.

However, often the most driving reason for using a dedicated non-shared server is that you have enough users to justify one or are a FileMaker developer who wants a server or servers for your own customers. The server can be sized to service the number of users and can be expanded very easily if the numbers grow and things start to slow dow a bit.

The other main advantages of a dedicated server is that we can be more creative with the configuration, allowing the installation of other applications or plug-ins and to configure the security settings to your specific requirements, rather than the very strict policies applied to the shared virtual servers.
